What is a Quip? 

A spreadsheet, team chats and conversations are just a few of the productivity tools in Quip that allow teams to work together seamlessly. Quip integration offers many benefits, including greater visibility, working from any location, good device support, enhanced collaboration, tracking history, and the ability to export or import real-time data. Because of its integration, you can generate important documents and spreadsheets, giving you different levels of visibility.

Six steps to implement Quip into your 

  • To access Quip from your account, sign up for a correct Quip Edition from 
  • After that, visit the Setup area in your Salesforce account and search for “Quip”
  • Complete the steps outlined in the Setup menu.
    • Connect your Quip Site
    • Give your team access to Quip
    • Install Connected Apps
    • Add Quip Components to Record Layouts
      • Quip Notifications
      • Quip Documents
      • Quip Associated Documents
  • Click Connect Quip
    • Enter your Quip site subdomain, or use your Quip Client ID and Client Secret
    • Create an external data source to connect your Quip content to Salesforce
    • Give your team access to Quip by assigning permissions
    • Assign an external data source to your permission set and configure the External Data Source to turn on Global Search
  • Once Salesforce and Quip are connected, you can start using Quip features from your account. You can create Quip documents, and add them to Salesforce records like accounts or opportunities
  • Open the Salesforce record and select the Quip tab to add a Quip document to it. From there, you can add an existing Quip document or create a new one
  • Quip can also be used to interact with other Salesforce users. For example, you can collaborate on a Quip document by inviting your team members 

Quip’s features 

  1. Sharing Quip documents and spreadsheets – Quip documents and spreadsheets are easy to create and can be shared when they are placed in a shared folder. You can add @mentions to a particular team member as needed and create notifications on folders you’re interested in. You can quickly observe modifications that are easy to spot and review if documents are changed by another user by setting notifications for the event. 
  1. Quick Chat – The channels for ongoing team conversations are chat rooms. On your Quip homepage, there is a new, dedicated sidebar where you can create and access Chat Rooms. Quip has also introduced an “emoji” option along with a live comment.  This feature has a great advantage for your business in that it streamlines your workflow with your team in a chat, which helps you share every document and spreadsheet and carry out one-on-one conversations more conveniently. 
  1. Quip Slides – We’ve all heard how important presentations are in the professional world. Quip Slides are no exception to this. It was developed to help teams use tools to finish their work, achieve consistency, collect feedback, and make decisions more quickly. To generate version-free slides, you can make use of the built-in chat, co-editing, and commenting features in your Salesforce Quip.

Quip Shield – Quip Shield was created to help organizations that operate in highly regulated industries like financial services, manufacturing, healthcare, and the public sector protect their sensitive data against strict regulatory requirements, industry standards, corporate policies, and others. 

There are three premium services offered by Quip Shield. 

  • Enterprise Key Management (EKM) – Create, manage, and control access to your personal encryption keys with Enterprise Key Management. The ability to granularly revoke access to your encrypted data at any time allows you to respond to any risks while maintaining complete insight into every key usage in an unchangeable audit record
  • Event Monitoring – Import real-time event logs into Cloud Access Security Brokers (CASB), and Security Information and Event Monitoring (SIEM) systems. By triggering security policies to take specific actions against immediate risks, you can enforce regulatory compliance
  • Antivirus scanning – Scan files uploaded to Quip for malicious content automatically using Antivirus scanning. By preventing users from downloading potentially harmful files, you may protect your company’s sensitive data from both known and unknown threats
